Rationale

My brochure’s topic was Asian Cuisine in Wellington. I chose Ancestral, Chow and Dragonfly as my locations. My brochure is clean and minimal, with some intricate patterns making occasional appearances. This was to correlate with how my chosen locations all integrate traditional Asian décor into their modern environments.  I also used a lot of vertical type, negative space, geometric shapes, and visual balance to further convey the modern ambience of my locations.

Though they can all be classed as modern Asian restaurants, each one has its own unique qualities. Chow is fresh, youthful, and 1960s inspired. I used a citrus colour and bamboo motif to convey this. Ancestral is more mature, quite masculine, and 1930s inspired. I used an amber colour and Opium Poppy motif to convey this. Dragonfly is more festive and rich, with quite traditional Asian Décor. I used a crimson colour and fan motif to convey this.

To improve my work process I think I could have done more development between my mockups and final.
